An archival and reenactment-based documentary about Australian modernist Max Harris, who, at the age of 19, founded the controversial avant-garde literary journal Angry Penguins. Narrated by his daughter, Samela Harris, the film examines Max's discovery of a cache of work by an unknown poet named Ern Malley, and the events that unfolded after he decided to devote an issue of Angry Penguins to the poetry in 1944.
